The whole watch is two buttons.SOS, and I'm OK.

A basic Android touchscreen watch — around £79 — running the Vygard Elder app. Built for Mum or Dad, not for tech-savvy family members. One red SOS button always on screen, one green I'M OK button when the family-set check-in fires. Everything else — vitals, GPS+what3words, fall detection, voice wake-word — runs invisibly in the background.

Two buttons — that’s the whole watch

The screen Margaret sees most days is this one: time, name, heart-rate, and one big red SOS button she can press in any emergency. No menus, no swipes, no apps to learn. Designed for an 80-year-old’s eyes and arthritic hands.

What the watch does — for Mum or Dad

Six features running in the background. The wearer never has to configure or even think about them.

Always-on SOS button

One big red button on the watch face. Press it once for help. The watch also has a physical SOS button on the side for arthritic hands or when the screen is wet.

Family-set 'I'M OK' check-ins

Pick the times on the platform (typically morning, midday, evening). The watch buzzes, the screen turns green. One tap confirms wellbeing. Miss it and family gets a push notification — auto-escalating to SOS after 15 minutes.

Continuous vitals

Heart-rate every 30 seconds, SpO₂ every 5 minutes, step count, sleep quality. Streamed to the family dashboard so adult children can check on Mum without ringing the doorbell at 7am.

Fall detection

Accelerometer + gyroscope detects the fall pattern. Watch asks 'Are you OK?' and gives 30 seconds to tap I'M OK. Silent = full SOS chain fires to family + care agency + GP surgery automatically.

GPS + what3words

Pre-set safe-zones (home, garden, dog walk). Margaret leaves the zone, family gets a discreet ping. SOS alerts include the what3words address so paramedics walk straight to her — not the wrong end of the field.

Voice wake-word: 'help help help'

She doesn't even need to press the button. Say 'help help help' three times — the on-device hotword fires SOS with a 5-second cancellable countdown. Audio never leaves the watch.

What the family sees on their phone

The Vygard family-share portal is a free PWA — no app install, just a link in WhatsApp. Up to 4 contacts (you, your siblings, the care agency, the GP surgery) all see the same dashboard.
